STRAW BALE COTTAGES:
As part of an effort to revitalize a formerly blighted urban site, these two cottages are being constructed on infill sites in a residential neighborhood. The houses, each 1,200 square feet, are designed to be compatible with the compact scale of the surrounding area. The houses will be constructed with straw bale insulation and will utilize active and passive solar energy strategies.
