Urban design and community planning is all about planning to create community. All the elements of a plan take on a deeper meaning when thought of this way. They go beyond mere function. The architect Louis Kahn says that "the street is a room by agreement, a community room, the walls of which belong to the donors dedicated for common use. It's ceiling is the sky.”

Our approach to planning is to find meaning for all these elements; the street, the garden, the courtyard, the pathway. These elements not only need to solve the practical matters at hand but find the social values at heart.
